Reg Mummery

Image
" The Blue Girl " by Reg Mummery instantly caught my attention as this is so different from his usual work that Reg sells on EBay. The smoky eye look and colours are great. I was not able to catch colours into photo in it's full glory. I dont know about Reg as an artist but his usual work is British naive, kind of Lowry style. This one is different and I love it. I am so happy to own it. I only need to find frame for it. His works on Google Images

Anna Glodek

I was excied and happy to find this painting and even afford it. Here is what seller wrote about her: Here is a beautiful, eye-catching painting by Maryland artist Anna Glodek.  It is framed and although the sticker says 8" by 10", it is NOT it is actually bigger at 13" by 10" and the painting itself is larger than 8x10.  I believe this was painted in the early 2000's when she was showing in local galleries around Maryland.   These photos really do not do justice to the art. It has a wonderful, heavy texture.  The painting itself is in excellent condition with no damage. The The simple metal frame has a couple small scratches.   This is a real gem of a painting. In addition I got idea from her to create my own initials monogram and use when

Collector - Corot started it all.

This blog is about my art collection. I am a collector. Who is collector, that person understands what I mean.  As a collector I am constantly in a "hunt" - read browsing - mainly on the internet and one day I came accross of huge print on board by Camille Corot with beautiful frame. This was my first art buy. Rest is history as they say. I am trying to buy originals but...well...how many regular people can afford Corot original? Jean Babtiste Camille Corot 1796-1875 http://www.jean-baptiste-camille-corot.org/biography.html I was drawn to this picture as it has depth and mystery in  it.You see landscape as far as "eye" can see...as if through Corot eyes and duplicated with romance. You can see the romance in this picture. On the reverse there is written " Tale of Terni" and number combinations 2395-180-411 and 722-14. I have no idea what those numbers are about. Dealer phone number maybe. When I Googled around I found another name for the painting
