Visited two charity shops

Image
I just recently found out that great way to promote your blog is over Feedspot and you can find other people thrifting blogs there too. Look: https://blog.feedspot.com/thrifting_blogs/?feedid=5625890   Below is my charity shop thrifting haul. Large dinner plate or serving plate is by Michael Kennedy. I've collected many of his peaces in the past.  Look at Gallery Zozimus description of him. I love that Ram sculpture in there.  https://galleryzozimus.ie/artists/michael-kennedy/       Green teapot  I totall y fell for this charming tea pot. It has faint incised initials and one other marking under bottom of teapot and there is tiny heart shaped incise on the lid. I think I read 1/2 and PT as initials. But yet to continue research who is it by. I like the the glaze has some speckles in it...I like it shape. It has a very good feel to it.  Celtic motifs ceramic candle holder I think Clara Craft is business that sells under Royal Tara  They do everything with celtic motifs...bugs, bowl

One Saturday haul

Irish towns are mostly very charming. Clonmel is one of them. I've been there multiple times, recently because there five charity shops. You are bound to find at least something and yes, I never returned empty handed. So, here is one Saturday's charity shop haul. Camembert plate Porcelain plate by BIA - there is actually a set of 4 cheese plates. Unfortunately I only found one but I love the graphics and I will use it for eating all sorts...not only cheese. Necklace Wow, that necklace is something else. It is a definite eye catcher but at the same time it is not too over the top and that's why love it.  Pottery vase   I like its roughness. It has a seal kind of incised mark of an apple (or heart )and unreadable text on the edges. But Google Lens helped me out and I found that it is by PotSmiths Pottery that is in Co.Donegal at Ray Cottage. Sadly, I cant find more info about the main potter there or their story but from what I see on Google Images, they have very interesti

Car boot sale haul. Second EPIC find this year.

Image
For some reason majority of car boot sales are held in Sundays.  On that Sunday morning I was torn - " Go, or not to go" I asked myself while sipping my morning coffee. It was already later morning and one of the reason I thought not to go was because of that. "Good" items have already been grabbed. And it is 45 mins drive. But, I went. I am glad that I went! There was not many car's, maximum 15 sellers...but what I got, I like. And the orangy-red bowl. EPIC! I love it so, so much.  And it's flawless. When I noticed this one, It was hard to hide my excitement. "What you know of this bowl "? I asked. "Oh, It is from Ballycasey Craft and Design Centre in Shannon" she answered. There was another lady listening and asking " Is the pottery still there, operating "? " I don't know that" seller said. Funnily, I live in Shannon. And I've been to Ballycasey Craft and Design Centre and the pottery or its shop is no longe

Naiva Bratislava 2023 and Lucia Strassner Fabianová sculpture

Image
Naiva Bratislava was held this year from 03rd of June to 22nd of June in PRIMACIALNY PALAC that you can see on the photo. Very grand building indeed. I was lucky enough to participate in this exhibition with two of my paintings and I went there for opening ceremony. It was half an hour ceremony where traditional Slovak songs were sang. Very lovely. My two paintings are on the below left corner. "Armadillo" and "Dawn and Dusk" If I remember correctly dog paintings are by Slovak artist, and rest of the paintings in this photo are Finnish artists. I think it is now already 5th year that this exhibition takes place. Artist are participating from all over the world, incl Africa continent. The main event of this trip for me was of course above exhibition vernissage but I also explored around Bratislava and among other things visiting different art galleries. So, great discovery for me this time in Bratislava was Magis Art Gallery. It is located a 15min drive out of town
