Thrifting Charity shop haul

Image
Here I have another days thrifting haul. When I visited that charity shop, there seemed to be a lot of people in, yet these items were sitting there, people passing by. I don't know if this means that I have completely different taste from other people or they are looking some more useful household items.  I am looking items of visual beauty and artistry.  The Blue Bowl by Hilary Jenkinson from Crannmor Pottery, Co.Wicklow I think I have seen her selling at annual Galway Potters Market. She's been doing pottery for decades. By having first workshop opening in Cong, Co.Mayo in 1994. Currently she is in Crannmore and this bowl comes from there. https://www.crannmorpottery.com/ I love the cobalt blue and black swirl combo. Little wave on the rim gives this bowl more interest. I gives me a bit of dramatic vibe. I bet anything would look fabulous served from it. Oranges, yes, oranges would create even more dramatic contrast.   Next up are these two fabulous Ballyelland Pottery, Co

Epic charity shop pottery haul

I have a "honeyhole" charity shop. All these ceramics is from one go. Why I titled this post "epic"? Majorly because of the lamp but all items are fab! The lamp I was drawn to it as if it was a big magnet there on the table. It's abstract artsy look is amazing, it's colors and it is tall and big and a statement peace and with very good price. Yes please, thank you! I had a quick look in the shop, it is inscribed and additional sticker remain.  McCluskey Pottery. Artist Sean McCluskey, Limavady in Northern Ireland. Have to tell you I had not heard about him before. Sadly when looking him up, he seem to have passed 13.02.2011. But his works live on their lives. Can use your imagination what travels this lamp has seen since its birth. Looking around internet there is not a lot of his work around and I would say from the things I've seen so far...this is the Crown Jewel of his work. I am so pleased of this find and I plan to enjoy it myself for a while unti

Galway Potters Market. It is usually held one summer weekend next to Spanish Arch in Galway. They are doing it annually since 2011. I've been trying to go each year I think since 2018.  Insta Galway Potters Market This year I rallied my friend to tag along. I think she liked it, at least I saw her smiling when looking at all the ceramics. Maybe I will convert her? In previous years I've always bought a Dee Quinn's piece. I have small collection already. Unfortunately she was not there this year. I will make a different blog post about her and the pieces I own. I recognized artists from previous years and I think 2 to 3 new artists I have not seen before. Of course I had to buy something.  I ended up buying Turnstone ceramics Robin and Clare Butler ceramics earrings. I had another favorite but it was out of my budget range. I have a very expensive taste.  After the indulging ourselves in ceramics we headed to have a stroll by the river. It is a nice walk across different
