Cheerful thrift haul

 I like this haul from about a month ago.

I start to notice that each separate time pickings are going together harmonically. Or I imagine things. But I assure that it has never been intentional. I just pick items that I like.

The fish

Its ceramic and can be hanged on a wall. Mine just leans against books on a bookshelf and it gives very cool artsy vibe.

I think that it is souvenir from Spain or Lancarote. But I love it. I managed to broke its tale when unpacking but little superglue and all grand.


Here is the signature on the back. I can read out OLARIA ?IN(?)A (or is the second word AIOVA? since the O letter seem to be small on first word) LACTE ( I think it might be short for Lancarote )...but this is all just guesswork. When to Google Olaria ceramics it results to many Spanish ceramic studios.

Watercolor print " Summer days" Donegal by Philip Gray

I love this print ( would love to own original ), it is light and bright and reminds me my trips to coast. You can find views like this all over Ireland coast.

Porcelain ashtray with a bird 

I liked this tray, it has a good look and it was crisp. I think the the stigma of using items for what they were intended to be when produced is starting to lift. Since I am not smoker, I still like it and I'd find different uses for it. Snacks can be served from there...some Soy sauces can be mixed in there, etc.

He is just cool decorative peace. I will have him around for a while to enjoy and then to list it.

What a find! It's silk or silk fusion, I have already wearing it a lot, specially with hot days it just cools down your body.

Cool artsy look is a plus of course.

  Here you see a picture of charity shop finds from my last hunting. It is a good representation of my taste. And I can't believe that I found all these from one shop.  Framed print.  I have no clue who the artist is. It is signed but I cant read out the name. I don't know...it appealed to me. I find it quirky and cool. Its large, so it makes a statement in the room.  The vase with flowers. Pottery, pottery, ceramics. My current obsession. I am so attracted to ceramic. About her   Her workmanship quality equals with another great Irish potters like Louis Mulcahy and Colm DeRis.  Houston Llew from charity shop Couple of weeks ago I went treasure hunting to charity shops on weekend as I often do. On the table there I noticed a book shaped object with attractive Tango dancers. I lifted it, it felt heavy and looking at it it seemed like decorative peace. It had nice quotes on each side. When looking it backside it said "glass on copper" among other information. Yes, please! As I love anything craft or art related I grabbed it fast. At home I had a closer look and Googled. I love when this happens...that the art world unfolds for you with something new that you did not know existed before. Galway Potters Market 2023

 Galway Potters Market. It is usually held one summer weekend next to Spanish Arch in Galway.They are doing it annually since 2011. I've been trying to go each year I think since 2018.  Insta Galway Potters Market This year I rallied my friend to tag along. I think she liked it, at least I saw her smiling when looking at all the ceramics. Maybe I will convert her? In previous years I've always bought a Dee Quinn's piece. I have small collection already. Unfortunately she was not there this year. I will make a different blog post about her and the pieces I own. I recognized artists from previous years and I think 2 to 3 new artists I have not seen before. Of course I had to buy something.  I ended up buying Turnstone ceramics Robin and Clare Butler ceramics earrings. I had another favorite but it was out of my budget range.
