Finishing this year thrifting with a bang, quality items.


Amazing dress by Tara Vao.

This is cotton and linen combo fabric dress, super comfy and cool boho artsy looking. I am wearing it with black tank boots and on the top long sleeved black T shirt. Plus jewelry to jazz it up.

As soon as I noticed ( how one can not notice? ) the color...I walked to it as if drawn by invisible force. Bonus is that it is velvet and as soon as I tried it on...I had a BIG smile in my face. It is fabulous!

The photo does not do justice to the dress. It is very moody and darkly mysterious and charming. Mysterious is right word. It is a stretchy and chiffon fabric.

Here is a handmade silk scarf, that is signed Marilys. So, I cant tell by whom it is exactly by. Google gives result but for Mailyn...

But it is fabulous muted green colors and hand turned and stitched edges.





Second scarf that I found has Ted Lapidus Paris marked on it but if it is a real deal or not, I cant tell.

It is machine stitched. But it is wearable having beautiful pheasants on it and was cheap enough for me to decide to purchase it.

This concludes my 2024 thrifting year. Finding these treasures is now part of my life. Thrill of a hunt. I enjoy them for time period and eather donate or sell them forward. My next thrift will be in Italy. Main reason for my trip is to visit Pompei, Herculaneum. Decided to do it now in winter since it is off season and it is not hot. I can take it slow and hopefully will not be overrun by hoards of people. And of course I have already Googled up some thrift shops. Bye 2024! Been a great year!

 I have a "honeyhole" charity shop. All these ceramics is from one go. Why I titled this post "epic"? Majorly because of the lamp but all items are fab! The lamp I was drawn to it as if it was a big magnet there on the table. It's abstract artsy look is amazing, it's colors and it is tall and big and a statement peace and with very good price. Have to tell you I had not heard about him before. Sadly when looking him up, he seem to have passed 13.02.2011. But his works live on their lives. Can use your imagination what travels this lamp has seen since its birth. These suede leather shoes scream quality and seem to be warn only few times. They have great artsy look and vibe, they go well with skirt, dress or jeans. Prices for those if new is over 100 EUR. Thrifting highlight: Judy Greene's pottery

  So, I have been thrifting this weekend and here is the haul. Judy Greene pottery. Its from her Connemara range. Here is her website: https://judygreene.wixsite.com/galway Now, on closer inspection I am not actually sure that the plate is Judy's although the glazes and colors are so similar. The incised mark on the plate is different than on the mug. But they go well together and I like their rustic look a lot. So, plate still remains a bit of the mystery. Bracelet and necklace Lady in the charity shop said it is graphite bead set. I never heard of graphite before...but it has dark grey and metallic look to it.  Wikipedia says:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphite Sure looks like it.
