January 2025 thrifting

Here are items that I have found thrifting in January. All from different charity shops on random days I have popped in there.


Last post in this blog I said that I am going to thrift in Italy. Yes, I was in Italy and what amazing trip it was. One of my dream came true by visiting Pompeii and Herculaneum ancient towns, also different museums, exhibitions etc. From thrifting front I only found one charity shop were I popped in. I bought three necklaces from there what you see on photo, all chosen because I like glass bead necklaces and all these have aurora borealis coating that makes them sparkle. Bling-bling!

I did look up few other thrift shops in Napoli from Google maps but they turned out to be too out of my trajectory. Oh well...you cant do it all.




I think this brass and enamel container set find is pretty special. 
Super decorative.
I see similar for sale on Etsy and Ebay. Someone wrote that these are from India. 
Maybe British India?










I could not resist this cute beaded theater/evening purse.
The color of textile...the brass work and beaded embroidery. So romantic and boho. It is in very clean almost new condition.
No makers mark. Looking at internet I see them sold for 40 to 60 EUR.










Then I found this watercolor painting. I believe it to be original. I have understood that in order to determine if the picture is original or print you need to zoom in with camera to the paint and if zoomed image shows pixels like squares appearing then it is a print. But this one only brings up the water color paper texture and paint. 

In my opinion this is so masterfully painted...the womans face, hands, body. Amazing!

It is signed as well but I cant read the name out. Initial R and the Sahidki...or something and 08. Most likely will not be able 
to identify but I like this painting a lot.








These ceramic bookends are by artist Jackie Sweeney from Roscommon as sticker says on one of them. I like abstract woman figures in long dresses...they have a bit mid century modern vibe to them.

Sadly I cant find artist Bio anywhere.













And then I found this coffee table book.
I know nothing of cars but browsing this book is fun to learn more about cars, their designers from antique models to new.
Actually I was just thinking what to stream tonight and I believe there is movie made about Henry Ford.

Epic charity shop pottery haul

 I have a "honeyhole" charity shop. All these ceramics is from one go. Why I titled this post "epic"? Majorly because of the lamp but all items are fab! The lamp I was drawn to it as if it was a big magnet there on the table. It's abstract artsy look is amazing, it's colors and it is tall and big and a statement peace and with very good price. Yes please, thank you! I had a quick look in the shop, it is inscribed and additional sticker remain.  McCluskey Pottery. Artist Sean McCluskey, Limavady in Northern Ireland. Have to tell you I had not heard about him before. Sadly when looking him up, he seem to have passed 13.02.2011. But his works live on their lives. Can use your imagination what travels this lamp has seen since its birth. Looking around internet there is not a lot of his work around and I would say from the things I've seen so far...this is the Crown Jewel of his work. Thrifting score - "UGG" shoes, original oil painting, pottery

  I cant be happier about my this weekend thrifting haul.                                                                            UGG EVER AUSTRALIA shoes Scored with this find. Big time. These suede leather shoes scream quality and seem to be warn only few times. They have great artsy look and vibe, they go well with skirt, dress or jeans. Prices for those if new is over 100 EUR. Anna Glodek

I was excied and happy to find this painting and even afford it. Here is what seller wrote about her: Here is a beautiful, eye-catching painting by Maryland artist Anna Glodek.  It is framed and although the sticker says 8" by 10", it is NOT it is actually bigger at 13" by 10" and the painting itself is larger than 8x10.  I believe this was painted in the early 2000's when she was showing in local galleries around Maryland.   These photos really do not do justice to the art. It has a wonderful, heavy texture.  The painting itself is in excellent condition with no damage. The The simple metal frame has a couple small scratches.   This is a real gem of a painting.
